Use of Artificial Intelligence

This Site uses artificial intelligence (AI) tools, including large language models, to assist with certain features such as answering questions via chat and generating written content within audit reports. AI-assisted outputs are provided for informational purposes only and may contain errors, omissions, or inaccuracies. You should not rely solely on AI-generated content when making decisions about home improvements, energy efficiency investments, or any other matter of consequence.

AI Chat Assistant. The Site's chat feature uses a technique called Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), which combines AI language processing with content drawn from program documentation. While we strive for accuracy, the assistant may provide incomplete, outdated, or incorrect information. Responses do not constitute professional advice. SAC is not liable for any actions taken or not taken based on chat responses. When in doubt, contact SAC program staff directly.

AI-Assisted Report Content. Portions of your audit report, including written summaries and efficiency recommendations, may be generated or assisted by AI based on data collected during your audit. All AI-assisted content is reviewed by a qualified human reviewer prior to delivery. This review process does not guarantee that content is free from error, and SAC makes no warranty to that effect.

Third-Party AI Processors. To deliver AI-assisted features, this Site transmits certain data to third-party AI service providers, including Anthropic, PBC. Data transmitted may include property details, questionnaire responses, and audit measurements. We do not transmit personally identifiable information beyond what is reasonably necessary for this purpose. Anthropic's data handling practices for API customers are governed by their Privacy Policy, available at https://www.anthropic.com/legal/privacy. Data submitted via the Anthropic API is governed by Anthropic's commercial data usage policy, under which submitted data is not used to train AI models and is retained for no more than seven days before deletion.
